Big Naturals - Musical Equipment Photographs

These were a set of photos taken for the Big Naturals album sleeve.  

The sleeve itself was a giant foldout that was a slight homage to the great Crass sleeves of the 80's. For our sleeve we wanted to break away from the 'punk' aesthetics and feature a more restrained almost jazz looking sleeve as a counterpoint to the music, and the fact that Gareth the bass player plays alot of eastern jazz notes lended itself to the overall look.

A couple of press shots for the Invada band Thought Forms. I have many shots from this session but I rather like these because of the the strong black & oranges.  the ones used tended to be full coloured but I always found these striking.

Promotional work for Invada artist, Team brick, Matt from Beak>, Fairhorns etc.  Live video Feedback that seemed to work well compositionally with a solo artist.

Beak - 1st Tour

Invited to do lights with Beak> for their first ever tour.  This time I disposed of the coloured lamps and psychedelic video projections, hired 2 World War II search lights and used open white house lighting to create columns of teutonic beams, I probably enjoyed this tour more than any others and it taught me to love he simplicity of light itself. These are a couple of shots I took and my tour poster.

Again, more photos of The Heads from various sessions, this band should have been bigger, when they were on fire most of the other bands from the same genre were left behind, trouble is that most probably only happened behind closed doors.

Photographing The Heads (Part 1)

Spent many hours sitting in with The Heads, filming and photographing them as they blasted their brand of cacophonous rock from out of nowhere.  What I most loved about these times were the fact that maybe no one would ever hear these jams and they often just made stuff up on the spot that floored me.
